DescriptionSecurity Clearance: Active Secret clearance required (Interim ok)Travel Requirement: Up to 10%Citizenship: US Citizenship requiredSherpa 6 is looking for a driven and innovative Mobile Test Automation Engineer to help ensure the quality and resilience of mission-critical systems supporting the Department of Defense and commercial partners. You won’t just be writing tests — you’ll be shaping the automation strategy behind our flagship Android platform, strengthening the reliability of software that operates in demanding, real-world environments. This role is an opportunity to take ownership of and expand our Appium-based framework, elevate our QA processes, and play a key role in delivering secure, high-performance mobile applications that truly matter.ResponsibilitiesDevelop automation code to test our mobile applicationsImprove the efficiency of our test suite for automated testing of our mobile applicationsFormulate and document test cases to test the efficacy and performance of mobile applicationsResearch software design documents for new or existing features to thoroughly understand the software under testAccurately identify and isolate the root problem of found software defectsReport bugs found during testing in a concise, accurate, and reproducible wayWork closely with teams of software developers and other engineers to ensure proper test coverage and automationAttend regular meetings to facilitate collaboration between engineers and across teamsRequirementsActive Secret security clearance (Interim ok)Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).3+ years of experience in Mobile Test Automation EngineeringProficiency in Java development experienceProficiency in developing tests with AppiumExperience developing automated tests for AndroidExperience with ticketing software (Jira, Rally, etc.)Experience writing/running automated test scriptsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teamsMust be a US citizenQualities Of Exceptional CandidatesExperience developing automated tests for iOSFront-end, back-end, or mobile application development experience of any kindExperience with CI/CD pipelines and technologiesExtreme, uncompromising attention to detailAbout Sherpa 6At Sherpa 6 we love to solve problems and provide the best solutions for our customers. Salary negotiations will be based on a host of factors including but not limited to your geographic location, prior experience, relevant skills, education, and certifications.Salary Description$90,000-$140,000
