Job Title: Full-Time Bookkeeper / Financial Controller Company: American Lock & Key / Integrated Access & Security Location: Colorado Springs, CO (On-site) Position Type: Full-Time, Permanent The Opportunity: Drive the Future of a 40-Year Legacy American Lock & Key has been the gold standard for security in the Colorado Front Range for four decades. We are no longer just a local locksmith shop; we are a growing security powerhouse. With our recent merger of The Lock Shop in Woodland Park and the launch of our high-tech commercial division, Integrated Access & Security, we are scaling faster than ever. We aren't looking for a "clerk"—we are looking for a Financial Controller to serve as the backbone of this expansion. What You’ll Be Doing As we scale, your role is to ensure our financial engine is optimized, transparent, and lean. You won't just be recording history; you'll be helping us write it. Full-Cycle Financial Management: Take total ownership of Payroll, Invoicing, Accounts Receivable/Payable, and meticulous bank account reconciliations. Profitability & Strategy: We need someone "money-aware." You will build budgets and proactively identify ways to save the company money, reduce overhead, and find new ways to generate revenue. Aggressive Growth Support: Assist in the financial integration of new acquisitions and help manage the cash flow requirements of our rapid expansion and government contract work. Reporting: Provide management and the owner with high-level snapshots and "deep-dive" data needed to make informed, high-stakes expansion decisions. Technical Requirements (Non-Negotiable) We require a "Power User" who is comfortable navigating multiple systems and integrating data from various branches and acquired entities: QuickBooks Expert: Mastery of QuickBooks Desktop and Online is required. Software Versatility: Proficiency in a broad range of accounting/ERP software (e.g., Xero, Sage, NetSuite, or FreshBooks) is required to help us manage data from newly acquired companies. Advanced Excel: High-level modeling, pivot tables, and KPI tracking are a must. Payroll Platforms: Experience managing payroll through integrated systems like Quickbooks, Gusto, ADP, or Paychex. Who You Are Longevity Minded: We’ve been here for 40 years, and we want someone who wants to be here for the next chapter. We are looking for permanent, not a temporary fix. Proactive & Assertive: You don’t wait for a problem to arise; you hunt for efficiencies. You bring solutions to the table before they are even asked for. Experienced: Ideally 5–10+ years in accounting or full-charge bookkeeping, with a preference for those who have worked in high-growth environments, construction, or the trades. Our new facilities will have offices to accommodate all company positions, and this is why we are stating that we are 4+ weeks out to hire, as this is a bit of a lengthy process, taking up to 120 days.
