Overview Responsible for managing the Milwaukee tool department inside a Costello’s store. Give Input Advise the store management of ideas and suggestions on how to make Costello’s better on your own initiative or on request. Position Summary The Milwaukee Sales Lead is responsible for managing the Milwaukee department inside a Costello’s store. This includes but is not limited to developing and executing strategic marketing and sales plans to sell Milwaukee Tools and Accessories, while growing sales and building strong relationships. They are responsible for assisting customers throughout the buying process. Their duties include greeting customers when they enter the store, helping customers find specific products or showing them how to use them and ringing up customer purchases on the POS register. Duties and Responsibilities: · The growth in sales, market share and profit of the Bernardsville and surrounding area. o Manage and maintain entire Milwaukee Tool department. o Responsible for ensuring in-stock and retail readiness. o Responsible for in-store demonstrations o Responsible for outside store Milwaukee tool sales by calling on local pro-business and selling our USP by ordering through our Milwaukee store. The expectation is to spend 60% of your time calling on outside customers. 40% in-store work and assignments. o Work with local Milwaukee Retail Field Sales National Account Management to identify opportunities. Share weekly updates – to track progress on customer leads. o Present account specific programs and promotions to dealers and accounts in territory. Work with Retail Field Sales National Account Management team to identify opportunities. Develop and execute effective launch plans for converted accounts. Call on prospective customers and accounts to identify leads and opportunities. Support promotional activity at dealers and accounts through working counter days, developing flyers, attending Grand Openings and program execution. Maintain up-to-date opportunity funnel that delivers on overall category goals, utilizing CRM to manage customer targets and sales conversion opportunities. Work continuously to learn and implement the Milwaukee Consultative Sales Process in the development of his/her sales skills. Cooperate with the Regional Manager’s efforts to train, coach & mentor for continuous improvement of sales performance. Develop goals and self-evaluate performance toward achieving those goals. Develop primary knowledge of the marketplace (users, applications, products, competition, channels). Utilize technology such as laptops and eSales program within the guidelines of managing the territory as established by Milwaukee sales management and Ace store manager. Providing feedback from the field related to: Competition, end users, channels of distribution, applications and products. Effectiveness of policies and programs. Sales Associate Job Functions · Use the E.C.E.T. (Every Customer, Every Time) process with EVERY customer interaction · Greet every customer you make eye contact with, anywhere in the store · Answer customers’ questions and provide information on procedures and policies · Be at your workstation on time · Be “customer ready” whenever you are on the stage/sales floor · Maintain awareness of all promotions and advertisements · Recommend related items when appropriate and execute S.A.L.E.S. process · Keep your area of responsibility neat, clean, stocked and priced properly · Execute the daily operational, day-to-day goals and priorities assigned by store management · Assist in the training and development of peers · Actively participate in daily huddle meetings · Uphold merchandising and store cleanliness standards · Offer a carry-out if appropriate · Know the proper way to answer the telephone · Be alert for possible merchandise losses. Protect all company assets and report any missing or damaged merchandise to your supervisor. · Address all safety concerns immediately · Advise store management of any pricing errors · Advise store management anytime you say "no" to a customer · Take initiative to learn product knowledge · Take initiative to learn selling skills · Perform other tasks as asked by store management · Respect store management and co-workers at all times Sales Floor Duties · Aid customers in locating merchandising in store, on acehardware.com, as well as, processing special orders · Be proficient at executing all store services, such as mixing paint, cutting glass, pipe and keys · Ensure all shipments are packed out in its proper home and all overstock is away · Participate in the processing of new shipments and help the team to keep the receiving and back stock area clean and organized Register Duties · Ring each transaction accurately · Always ask for the Loyalty Card before you start a transaction, sign the customer up if needed · Call for help when more than 3 customers are waiting · Keep busy around the registers when you are not ringing · Process merchandise returns as needed Physical Requirements Essential Physical Ability: Frequency - Requirement Walking: Constant - All work performed on feet must be able to walk on all surfaces from point to point Standing: Constant - All work performed on feet Sitting: In-frequent - While driving to and from customers Stooping: Frequent - To pick up cartons at floor level, set-up and operate displays of tools – requiring use of hands, bending and/or kneeling and/or crouching, and/or stooping Reaching: Frequent - To a height of 6 feet Lifting: Frequent - Up to 75 lbs., up to 500 repetitions per hour to a height of 4 feet (top of register); must be able to lift up to 25 pounds comfortably Hand Dexterity: Frequent - Have the ability to operate equipment with severe vibration and strong torque as well as operate register and complete paperwork. Pushing / Pulling: Frequent - Move hand jacks from place to place Carrying: Frequent - Up to 50 lbs., up to 10 feet, occasionally more Climbing: In-frequent - Stairs in storage rooms; ladders Vision: Constant - Normal vision/peripheral vision required to safely operate powered hand tools and drive a vehicle. Read labels, recognize boxes, safety in working Hearing: Constant - Safety signals and exposure to loud noises from tools and outside weather conditions Job Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or related field, preferred Meet or Exceed levels of performance in a Field Sales Rep, Single Store Rep, or Event Marketing Specialist position or equivalent outside sales experience Minimum of 1 year experience in sales or related field preferred. Must be able to perform the essential functions and physical demands of the job with or without accommodation. Must be proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office applications. Must possess effective business communication skills, broad business perspective, and market savvy. Requires a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Open availability, including weekends and evenings Ability to travel overnight up to 40% of time.
