Delivery Driver
Northeast Automatic Sprinkler Company is a progressive fire protection subcontractor specializing in design, installation, renovation, inspection, testing, maintenance, service, and 24/7 emergency service of automatic fire protection sprinkler systems. We currently have an opening in our busy fabrication shop for a Delivery Driver.This position is full-time and involves making deliveries to various job sites and picking up stock in the Greater Boston and surrounding areas, as well as occasionally to Cape Cod, Rhode Island, and southern New Hampshire.The start time for this position is roughly 5:00 am, as most deliveries must be at the job site by 6:00 am.While the majority of the day will involve making deliveries, employees working in this position will also be involved in putting together stock orders for delivery, accepting shipments, unloading and organizing stock, loading trucks, performing job site cleanouts, and fabricating pipe, as well as other general warehouse duties as assigned, while following all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe work environment.No CDL is necessary; however, a DOT card will be required by the end of the first week (the cost and time to get the DOT card will be paid for by the company).QualificationsRELIABLE - being prompt to the shop and/or job site every day is vitalValid MA driver's license, with an excellent driving record, and a dependable vehicle to get to and from work. A company vehicle will be provided for use in deliveries.Must have the ability to stay focused and drive for long periods of timeStrong work ethic and self-motivatedBasic mathematical skills - ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, including whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsBasic reasoning skills - ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructionsMechanical aptitude and good dexterityGood attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughnessPositive attitudeAbility to keep delivery trucks and work area clean and organized, as well as take proper care of equipment and materialsPossess a willingness to learnAbility to work both independently as well as part of a teamHigh school diploma or equivalentClean background checkMust be capable of bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and/or twistingMust be able to lift, carry, push and pull at least 50 lbs. Must be able to stand, squat, and walk for extended periods of timeThe ideal candidate will have a proven track record of dependability, a strong work ethic, and excellent references.
