Credit Analyst I – Middle Market (C&I)

Position Overview
The Credit Analyst I provides direct support to the Middle Market lending team by performing financial spreads, preparing renewal packages, monitoring portfolio activity, and partnering with Portfolio Managers on daily credit needs. This role is highly collaborative and is ideal for someone beginning their commercial banking career and looking to build foundational credit skills in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities (Actual Day-to-Day)Financial Spreading & Credit Package Preparation
Complete 1–2 financial spreads per day for new opportunities, renewals, and interim requests.
Prepare financial packages required for annual reviews, renewals, and credit memos.
Identify financial exceptions or missing items and communicate with the PM/RM to resolve them.
Portfolio Support & Monitoring
Support the Portfolio Manager with gathering, reviewing, and organizing financial reporting items.
Track missing statements, covenant compliance, borrowing base certificates, and other required documentation.
Assist with monitoring financial exceptions and clearing outstanding items.
Help maintain accurate risk ratings and portfolio documentation.
Credit Meetings & Internal Communication
Attend credit meetings and internal credit calls with RMs, PMs, and Credit Officers.
Take notes, compile follow-up items, and support next steps for underwriting or renewals.
Collaborate with RMs on structuring renewal terms, preparing spreads, and collecting updated financials.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
Strong analytical skills and eagerness to learn financial analysis & credit fundamentals.
Solid Excel and financial statement understanding (coursework acceptable for Level I).
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.
Ability to handle multiple deals at once and keep track of financial reporting deadlines.
Clear communication and willingness to collaborate with PMs, RMs, and Credit Officers.
0–2 years of relevant financial analysis experience preferred; internships welcome.
