This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives on the shop floor working directly with tooling, machinery, maintenance, and production teams to keep equipment running, improve processes, and support daily manufacturing needs. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of forging operations, tooling design, heavy machinery, and machine rebuilds, and will serve as a technical resource for the machine shop and forging floor.ResponsibilitiesProvide day‑to‑day engineering support to forging, heat treat, and machining operationsTroubleshoot production issues related to tooling, press operation, dies, fixtures, and equipmentSupport process improvements to increase uptime, efficiency, quality, and safetyDesign, modify, and improve forging dies, fixtures, tools, and shop aidsSupport repair, rebuild, and installation of forging presses, hammers, furnaces, and machining equipmentWork closely with maintenance on machine rebuilds, retrofits, and preventative maintenanceDevelop and maintain work instructions, process routings, tooling drawings, and setup sheetsSupport new product introductions (NPI) from concept through productionEnsure forging and machining processes meet aerospace quality and traceability requirementsParticipate in root cause analysis and corrective actions for production or quality issuesWork closely with machine shop, forging operators, maintenance, and qualitySupport continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing principlesAssist with training operators on new tooling, processes, and equipment changesThis role is required to be on-site 5 days a week at the Gardena, CA location.QualificationsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field(Equivalent hands‑on experience in forging/machining environments will be considered)Experience in a forging, heavy manufacturing, or aerospace production environmentStrong Understanding OfForging processes and terminologyTooling and fixturingMachining operations and shop‑floor practicesAbility and willingness to work directly on the manufacturing floorPractical problem‑solving skills with a mechanical mindsetCompensationIn compliance with all states and cities requiring transparency of pay, the expected pay range for this position is $90,000 - $140,000.Compensation can vary depending on several factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, experience, competencies, and geographic location. Some roles may qualify for extra incentives like equity, commissions, or other variable performance-related bonuses.
