The Lead Teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging lesson plans, teaching developmentally appropriate activities, and fostering a positive and safe learning environment for children. Day-to-day tasks include managing classroom routines, effectively communicating with families and colleagues, and providing training and guidance to support staff. The Lead Teacher is expected to ensure all activities align with educational best practices and the mission of Two Rivers Daycare.QualificationsTwo Rivers Daycare in Johnson City, NY is seeking a passionate, dependable, and nurturing Lead Teacher to join our growing, faith-centered early childhood program. Part and full-time positions available for $28/hrCandidates must meet New York State OCFS requirements for Lead Teacher based on the age group they will serve:-Infant/Toddler Lead Teachers must possess ONE of the following:An associate’s degree in early childhood, child development, or related field AND one year of experience with infants/toddlers; ORAn Infant/Toddler CDA or other OCFS-recognized credential AND two years of experience caring for children; ORA CDA AND two years of experience, including at least one year with infants/toddlers; ORNine (9) college credits in early childhood or related field AND a plan of study toward an infant/toddler credential or degree AND two years of experience (including one year with infants/toddlers)-Preschool Lead Teachers must possess ONE of the following:An associate’s degree in early childhood, child development, or related field; ORA Child Development Associate (CDA) or other OCFS-recognized credential specific to the preschool developmental period AND one year of experience caring for children; ORNine (9) college credits in early childhood or related field AND a plan of study toward a CDA or associate’s degree AND two years of experience caring for children-School-Age Lead Teachers must possess ONE of the following:An associate’s degree in child development, elementary education, physical education, recreation, or related field; ORA school-age child care credential or OCFS-recognized credential AND one year of experience working with children under 13; ORA high school diploma (or equivalent) AND two years of direct experience working with children under 13At Two Rivers Daycare, you’re not just taking a job—you’re stepping into a role that shapes young lives, supports families, and builds a strong community.If you’re ready to make a meaningful impact every day, we’d love to meet you!
