Manager, Engineering (Data Platform)

For our client, we are seeking a Manager Engineering (data Platform) to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space. This role will lead work at the intersection of data, AI-enabled capabilities, and scalable technology delivery. You will partner with business, technical, and operational stakeholders to build reporting, surface trends, and translate analysis into action. The position offers the opportunity to strengthen data-driven execution and help teams focus on the metrics that matter most within a technology-driven environment.Location: New York, NY - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $239,000 – $275,000 annuallyResponsibilities Lead the Data Platform Engineering team in designing and implementing data systems Provide architectural guidance and establish data modeling standards Build and optimize scalable data abstractions and frameworks Translate business and data requirements into actionable technical pieces Drive an AI-native culture by integrating AI tools to enhance workflows Manage relationships across Engineering and Product to align team goals Mentor and coach team members, conducting design reviews and RCAQualifications 5+ years of hands-on experience in Big Data and distributed systems 2+ years of team management experience with a focus on mentorship Expertise in batch processing frameworks like Hadoop and Spark Experience with stream processing systems including Kafka Proficiency in tools like Temporal, Apache Iceberg, and AWS Glue Proven ability to operate in fast-paced startup environments Familiarity with healthcare data standards like HIPAABenefits Flexible PTO Medical, dental, and vision plan options 401(k) Access to Teladoc Health Participation in equity incentive programsOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
