Location: W6406 County Road A, USA, Elkhorn, WI, 53121Description Seasonal Class A/B CDL Driver or Farm ServiceFor over 100 years, our goal at The DeLong Co., Inc. has been to provide information, products and services to the farming industry. We are currently looking for a Seasonal CDL Driver who holds a Class A or B License for our posted location. If you currently do not hold a CDL License but are able to obtain a Farm Service CDL, we can discuss this option with you.Military/Veterans Encouraged to ApplyJob Description of Seasonal CDL DriverSeasonal CDL drivers are responsible for operating tractor-trailer/tandem equipment and maintain properly to transport material to designated location in a timely manner.Essential Job Functions of Seasonal CDL DriverPosition Type/Expected Hours of WorkWork hours vary depending on workload, including nights and weekends during peak season.Safely operate Class A/B truck to transport material to job site often times driving on uneven or unfinished surfaceMust be able to climb up to 15 feet on ladders attached to truck or fertilizer tank.Must be able to lift up to 50 or 60 pounds as needed on uneven surfaces.Daily maintenance of equipment such as cleaning truck inside and outRecognize surroundings and practice traffic awareness to maintain a safe environment on the road and in the yard.Tarp load when needed, verify gates are closed.Clean spilled material/buildup off boxDuring slower points in the season there will be general labor duties required by all CDL drivers as assignedAbility to communicate effectively (verbal, listening, written).Ability to read maps and navigate to new locations.Ability to work with minimum supervision and recognize matters needing attention and initiate action on that recognition.Provide Delivery service as required by established delivery standards.Interact with customers and managers.Observing speed limits and obeying D.O.T. regulationsMaintain daily accurate and up-to-date records of vehicle inspections, mileage, and deliveries using Samsara software.CDL Driver Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, talk, walk and hear.
