The lead assessor will be responsible for conducting social compliance assessments and investigations against local law and various customer or scheme standards as well as delivering a detailed report with actional information for customers.Who You AreAre you thrilled by the idea of working in a business that aims to tackle the world’s biggest challenges? Do you want to work:on environmental, social and governance issueswith an amazing team of like-minded creative thinkersin a fast-paced dynamic environmentfor some of the biggest and most forward-looking brands in the worldResponsibilitiesConduct audits as neededBook travel in accordance with assigned scheduleConduct an opening meeting with management outlining scope and client expectationsInterview management to understand facility practicesConduct a facility walkthrough to observe facility practicesReview documentation that demonstrates practicesInterview workers (ideally in native language or with the use of a translator) in a sensitive but impartial way to verify and explore practicesTriangulate data across data sources to come to an informed conclusion on practices Presenting results to facility managementAdvise companies on ways to improve working conditions for workersWrite comprehensive reports in English (and local language CAPs) for each assessment, in a timely and accurate mannerProvide clients, facility, vendor, and fellow staff necessary clarifications on the audit results or the report in a professional, timely, and accurate mannerFinally, meet Key Performance Targets related to report turnaround time, report quality, and budget.Qualifications4-year college degree in a major of Law, HR, Occupational Health and Safety or Environment /Advanced degree is preferredMinimum five (5) years of experience in social compliance auditingMinimum 200 social compliance audit days (verifiable)APSCA Registration Required, must be CSCAMust have valid driver’s licenseAbility to travel 80% of the timeStrong business acumenSolutions oriented and customer orientedEffective problem solving and negotiation skillsExcellent verbal and written English and SpanishAdaptable and flexibleComfortable in various industries e.g. manufacturing, food & beverage, agricultureHigh degree of proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Internet-research /reporting/analysis toolsMaintains a global perspective and is culturally sensitive and awareHighest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics.Comfortable with confrontation, with a diplomatic and easy demeanorAbility to operate in a multi-cultural environment with people of varying socio-economic statusAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information.RBA, BSCI, SLCP and other audit Certifications are a plusDiversity and Inclusion at LRQA:We are on a mission to be the place where we all want to work and we are passionate about embracing different perspectives because we understand the value this brings to our business, our clients and each other.
