In this program, students will have to opportunity to combine biological and behavioral sciences with technical occupational therapy assistant courses. This position description does not represent in any way a contract of employment.Principal AccountabilitiesAdjunct faculty teach curriculum developed by the departmentPlan and organize instruction in ways which maximize student learningPrepare and provide syllabi for all assigned sections in accordance with department and divisional policiesEmploy appropriate teaching and learning strategies, use available instructional technology when appropriateModify, where appropriate, instructional methods and strategies to meet diverse student's needsSupport classroom and online efforts to promote student successEvaluate and return student work in a timely manner to promote learningMaintain accurate records of student progressSubmit final grade rosters according to established deadlinesMaintain confidentiality of student informationAdjunct Faculty cannot be assigned to teach more than the maximum of 12 credit hours per semesterRequirementsMinimum of an associate's degree in the content area or a related field is required; bachelor's degree preferredMinimum of three years of experience in the field is requiredMust be a licensed Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant requiredEvidence of successful prior teaching experience is preferredDemonstrated commitment to improving student learning through innovative strategies shown to help students succeed at the course and program levelEffective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work successfully in a community college environmentMust possess demonstrated skills in using modern educational technology, including multimedia-based instruction
