Performs clerical functions and materials management support, as assigned, which support the clinical and Novi Surgery Center goals.Key ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties/Responsibilities:Perform assigned nursing support tasks according to Center policy and procedureAssist with OR suite turn-over as time allowsPerform QA monitoring for the OR which includes but is not limited to, recording temperature and humidity in each ORPerform light housekeeping functions as assigned, such as stocking linen carts, cleaning and changing patient cart, collection and disposal of soiled linen/trash, general cleaning of the desk, patient areas, and radiology equipmentAssist with ordering, procuring, and tracking of supplies from general stores and purchasing, documenting, and communicating with the Materials Manager and Director of NursingAssess safety and effectiveness of equipment and the environment. Communicate deficits to Director of Nursing. Follow policy regarding tagging and removal from service of any equipment which fails to function appropriatelyProvide technical skills involving radiology and fluoroscopyTake and develop radiographs of various parts of the body, intraoperativelyAssist in patient and staff education and counseling regarding radiation safetyDemonstrate and utilize good guest relations skills with members of the staff, physicians, patients, and visitorsParticipate in the orientation of new staff, volunteers, and approved program participantsAct as a resource person to other staffAdheres to OSHA guidelines for Universal Precautions for exposure to blood and body fluids at all times, using appropriate personal protective equipment and sharps handling. Follows AORN recommended practices and center policies at all timesWork positively and professionally with all outside third party payors, vendors, patients, physicians, and othersMaintain all required healthcare and job appropriate certifications. Perform effectively in an emergency situation.QualificationsCertification or licensure as a Radiology Technologist.Experience in patient care and radiology procedures preferred.Ability to perform clerical and materials management tasks efficiently.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to work under nursing supervision and as part of a multidisciplinary team.```
