Our district provides a supportive and inclusive educational experience that prioritizes student development and staff professional growth.Position Overview:Regional School District No. 1 is seeking a full-time (1.0 FTE) Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support students with communication, hearing, language, and speech disorders that interfere with their ability to access the curriculum. This position plays a critical role in providing direct and indirect services, evaluations, and collaboration with educational staff to enhance student learning.Responsibilities:Provide individual and group speech and language therapy services to students.Conduct comprehensive evaluations, analyze assessment data, and develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives.Facilitate indirect services and consultation to support students in various educational settings.Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and related service providers, including co-treatment and co-teaching models.Maintain accurate and timely documentation, including service notes and reports.Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development opportunities.Support students with augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) devices as needed.Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and colleagues to support student success.Adhere to ethical, legal, and professional standards set forth by state and national guidelines.Qualifications:SLP: Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institutionSLPA: Associate's degree or BA degree in a related fieldCurrent CT licensure or certification in Speech-Language Pathology (061) requiredExperience working with children in a school setting, particularly in special education, is highly desirable.Strong interpersonal, organizational, and collaboration skills.Essential Functions:Ability to work in a variety of school-based environments, including classrooms and therapy spacesAbility to move throughout school buildings and assist students as necessaryAbility to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writingAbility to manage multiple responsibilities and meet required timelines in a dynamic school settingApplication/Interview Procedure:Apply online; click JobID: 1683Applicants will be screened on an ongoing basis; early applications are encouraged.Interviews with a possible call back.For more information, please get in touch with Rebecca Gaschel-Clark, Director of Pupil Services at (860) 824-5639 or via email at rgaschelclark@region1schools.org.Regional School District No. 1 provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any type without regard to race, color, religion, age, sex, national origin, disability status, genetics, protected veteran status, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state or local laws.This policy applies to all terms and conditions of employment, including recruiting, hiring, placement, promotion, termination, layoff, recall, transfer, leaves of absence, compensation and training.
