**Network Engineer****Location:** Eau Claire, WI**Work Arrangement:** Onsite**Contract:** 12 Months, with possibility of extension**Pay Rate:** Up to $80/hr on W2### Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on **Network Engineer** to design, configure, deploy, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with **Cisco switching and routing**, particularly **Catalyst C9000 switches and Catalyst C8000 routers**, and be comfortable working independently while collaborating with a broader engineering team.### Key Responsibilities* Design, configure, install, and maintain enterprise **LAN/WAN switching and routing infrastructure**.* Configure and deploy **Cisco Catalyst C9000 series switches** across enterprise network environments.* Configure and deploy **Cisco Catalyst C8000 series routers**.* Deploy and support network equipment at both **access and distribution layers**.* Troubleshoot network connectivity and performance issues using the **OSI model, particularly Layers 1-3**.* Analyze and resolve issues involving the **Physical, Data Link, and Network layers**.* Perform standard network installations, configurations, upgrades, and infrastructure changes independently.* Validate network configurations and ensure reliable connectivity and operational performance.* Maintain accurate technical documentation for network configurations, deployments, and troubleshooting activities.* Communicate proactively with engineering teams and contribute effectively to team-based infrastructure initiatives.### Required Qualifications* Strong hands-on experience with **Cisco enterprise networking**.* Experience configuring and installing **Cisco Catalyst C9000 series switches**.* Experience configuring and installing **Cisco Catalyst C8000 series routers**.* Strong understanding of **OSI Layers 1, 2, and 3**.* Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot network issues at the appropriate OSI layer.* Experience with **access-layer and distribution-layer network infrastructure**.* Strong communication, documentation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.* Ability to work independently and execute well-defined technical initiatives with minimal supervision.### Preferred Qualifications* Experience with **MEC (Multi-Chassis EtherChannel)** configuration.* Experience with **SD-WAN deployment, implementation, administration, or troubleshooting**.* Experience supporting enterprise-scale network infrastructure.### Education & Experience* Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with at least **2 years of professional technical experience**, **OR*** Associate's degree with at least **4 years of professional technical experience**, **OR*** At least **6 years of professional technical experience** without a degree.### Key Skills**Cisco Networking | Cisco Catalyst C9000 | Cisco Catalyst C8000 | Routing & Switching | LAN/WAN | OSI Model | Layer 1-3 Troubleshooting | Access Layer | Distribution Layer | MEC | SD-WAN | Network Infrastructure | Network Deployment | Network Configuration**
