Director of Food and BeverageThe director of food and beverage is responsible for managing all operations related to food and drink at the hotel. Responsibilities include but aren't limited to, overseeing food and beverage products' production, sales, and overall quality. This includes sourcing vendors, planning menus, training staff, and managing inventory.Develop and manage the food and beverage budget, including revenue and expense forecasting, cost controls, and financial reportingDesign and implement menus that meet the needs, preferences, and dietary restrictions of customers and guestsOversee food and beverage ordering, receiving, and inventory management, ensuring adequate stock levels and optimal pricingRecruit, train, supervise, and evaluate food and beverage staff, including chefs, cooks, servers, and bartendersOversee the development and implementation of food and beverage service procedures and standards that ensure high-quality, efficient, and consistent serviceMaintain compliance with all food and safety and sanitation regulations, including training staff on food-safe handling and storage practicesCollaborate with other departments, including sales, marketing, and operations, to develop and implement promotional campaigns and events that drive food and beverage operationsPerform other duties as assignedBachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, or related field preferredTen plus years of experience in food and beverage, preferably in a high-volume, full-service restaurant or hospitality environmentProven track record of developing and implementing successful food and beverage programs that meet or exceed revenue goalsStrong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve high levels of performanceExcellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, guests, vendors, and internal stakeholdersStrong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and implement solutionsAbility to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environmentExcellent communication and organizational skillsStrong attention to detail and organizational abilitiesAbility to work well within a team as well as independentlyProven ability to lead and mentor team members effectivelyStay up to date with the latest trends and practices in the hotel industryStrong customer service and communication skills, with knowledge of sales and marketing strategiesAbility to train and develop team members to increase skills and abilities in their respective areas as well as cross-training to assist other team membersSet the example through a professional, friendly attitude towards clients and associates, timely responses to clients' and associate's needs, and observance of sales office standardsPassion for food and cooking techniquesKnowledge of inventory management and orderingKnowledge of cost and labor systemsRequired to complete and successfully pass the Avenue5 Fair Housing, Diversity and Inclusion Training within the first 30 days of employmentRequired to maintain a regular schedule which may require working outside of business hours, weekends, and non-traditional holidaysMay be required to be on-call and aid during times of high demandExposure to an environment typically found in a hotel or restaurantAbility to lift, push, and pull up to 50 poundsMust be able to remain stationary, move around, reach, and position oneself as needed for extended periods of timeAbility to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels including the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in soundAbility to compare, copy, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate, communicate, and instructAbility to tolerate stressful situationsAbility to talk and express or exchange ideas through the spoken word.
