Known for taking on tight-tolerance, complex work that others avoid, UGM offers a hands-on, fast-paced setting where employees have direct visibility into the parts they produce, real responsibility in execution, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to critical hardware used in high-performance applications.Role DescriptionThe Logistics Coordinator role is the main actor in the shipping department and is responsible for the flow of all incoming and outgoing material, customer and vendor paperwork, and physical job movement throughout the shop. This position supports Production Control, Inspection, and Operations by ensuring that orders, certifications, and parts move correctly between customers, vendors, and internal departments. The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for receiving customer orders, performing receiving inspection, entering orders into JobBOSS, creating and tracking vendor purchase orders, coordinating outside processing, preparing final shipment packages, and maintaining accurate documentation for all active jobs. This role also supports machine scheduling, maintains shipping area organization, and communicates with customers, vendors, and internal departments to keep jobs on track Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Oversees and coordinates all incoming and outgoing shipments. Performs receiving inspection on incoming product including part counts, documentation, photographs, and damage checks. Learns to operate forklift to unload trucks and move parts throughout shop as required. Performs outgoing inspection on all outbound product including verification of paperwork, packaging, and required documentation. Enters customer purchase orders into JobBOSS including contract review, job setup, and folder structure creation. Creates and manages vendor purchase orders including sending to outside vendors, tracking status, and confirming completion. Checks outside process certifications against UGM purchase order requirements. Receives outside process parts, confirms counts, verifies paperwork, and flows parts to next operation. Coordinates pickup and drop off of parts to outside vendors including scheduling couriers, preparing shipments, and performing local deliveries when needed. Creates shipments using UPS, FedEx, LTL, and customer accounts and ensures presence for daily pickups. Flows parts throughout shop to support machine operators and maintain production schedule. Maintains accurate notes and status updates for active jobs. Uploads documents to JobBOSS and maintains proper electronic job records. Scans and files job packets, purchase orders, and certification paperwork. Creates final document packages and sends certification packages to customers at time of shipment. Maintains company profile information in customer portals as required. Communicates with customers regarding status updates, due date changes, paperwork requests, and shipment tracking. Receives feedback from operators and communicates issues to Production Control. Assists Production Control with maintenance of machine schedule including assigning jobs in JobBOSS. Maintains shipping/receiving area clean and organized. Maintains inventory of shipping supplies and orders supplies as needed. Performs local deliveries and pickups as required. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
