Environmental Services Technician II (EVS) - 1st Shift - Part-timePay Range: $21 - $24 per hour DOELocation: Newport Beach, CAShift: 1st Shift- Must have open availability to include weekendsPosition OverviewWe are seeking a dedicated Environmental Services Technician II (EVS) to support a healthcare facility by maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This role is responsible for performing a variety of cleaning and disinfecting duties throughout patient care areas and other facility spaces in accordance with established policies and procedures.The EVS Technician plays a critical role in infection prevention and patient safety by performing high-level, time-sensitive disinfectant cleaning tasks in critical patient areas.Key ResponsibilitiesClean and maintain patient rooms, treatment rooms, restrooms, nursing stations, offices, waiting areas, and other assigned areas.Perform high-level disinfectant cleaning, including terminal cleaning of discharge rooms, isolation rooms, operating or invasive areas, and emergency department spaces.Use appropriate cleaning equipment, chemicals, and supplies according to department standards.Remove trash and linen from designated areas throughout the facility.Perform specialty floor and carpet care, including stripping, refinishing, extracting, and disinfecting surfaces.Maintain working knowledge of departmental procedures, quality control standards, and safety practices.Recognize and follow signs, symbols, and written instructions related to safety and infection control.Deliver excellent customer service while interacting with patients, visitors, and staff.Complete assigned tasks efficiently while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.Required QualificationsAbility to read, speak, understand, and follow written and verbal instructions in English.Ability to recognize emergencies or urgent situations and communicate effectively.Ability to follow established cleaning protocols and safety procedures.Strong teamwork and communication skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced healthcare environment while maintaining attention to detail.Preferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED.Previous hospital, healthcare, or hospitality housekeeping experience.Basic computer skills, including the ability to use email and complete online training modules.Experience operating cleaning equipment such as vacuums, extractors, and floor care machines.Key SkillsEnvironmental cleaning and sanitationInfection control practicesEquipment and floor care operationsCustomer service and communicationAttention to detail and organizationTeam collaboration and interpersonal skillsWork EnvironmentThis position works in a healthcare environment and may involve standing for extended periods, lifting equipment or supplies, and performing cleaning duties in patient care areas while following strict safety and infection control guidelines.Pay Details: $21.00 to $24.00 per hourBenefit offerings available for our associates include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, additional voluntary benefits, EAP program, commuter benefits and a 401K plan.
