Accounting Specialist
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will play a key part in the preparation of month-end schedules, monthly financial reporting, and maintaining compliance with state and federal requirements. The ideal candidate is highly organized, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
Key Responsibilities
Perform month-end account reconciliations, accruals, and allocations between entities.
Assist in ensuring all bank trust accounts are properly maintained in compliance with state and federal regulations.
Support timely and accurate completion of bank reconciliations.
Help maintain and improve a documented system of accounting policies, procedures, and controls across departments.
Verify entries and reconcile processed work by comparing system reports to balances.
Protect the confidentiality and integrity of the organization’s financial information.
Stay current by participating in ongoing training and educational opportunities.
Ensure compliance with regulatory and corporate policies, including attendance, timeliness, and professional standards.
Perform additional related duties as assigned to support the accounting and finance team.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in balance sheet reconciliations and general accounting.
Solid knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Skills and Qualifications
Bilingual proficiency (English & Spanish) is required – both written and verbal.
Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables.
Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and email software.
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
Ability to manage time effectively and perform in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
