Paint Production Apprentice - HVLP Experience

We are seeking a high-quality candidate to produce high-quality results as an HVLP Signage Painter. In this detail-oriented and safety-conscious role, you will be responsible for paint mixing, equipment operation, and maintaining exceptional quality control standards. While signage experience is a plus, relevant automotive painting experience is also acceptable. Core Responsibilities Paint mixing and preparation: Accurately mix paints, solvents, and other finishes according to manufacturer specifications, utilizing color mixing software and tools. Substrate preparation: Prepare surfaces/substrates effectively for painting. Equipment operation: Operate and maintain various production machines, including automated mixers, sprayers, and automated paint lines. This includes performing basic preventive maintenance. Quality control: Monitor the production process, perform quality checks on finished products, and troubleshoot issues to ensure consistent, high quality. Production support: Pour mixed paint into containers, label products correctly, and prepare finished goods for shipping. Maintenance and cleaning: Maintain a clean, organized work area and ensure all paint booths and equipment are in good working order. Inventory management: Assist with tracking raw materials and finished goods inventory, and help with reordering supplies as needed. Documentation: Maintain accurate production records and complete all necessary documentation. Requirements and Skills HVLP painting experience: Prior experience with High Volume Low Pressure (HVLP) painting is essential. Familiarity with paint booth maintenance: Experience maintaining a clean and operational paint booth environment is essential. Signage experience (preferred): Experience specific to painting signs or similar projects is a plus. Automotive experience (acceptable alternative): Relevant automotive painting experience will be considered. Matthews Paint experience (preferred): Familiarity with Matthews Paint systems or equivalent training is beneficial. Tool knowledge: General knowledge and experience using various hand and power tools is a plus due to the varied nature of our projects.
