Sr.SRE – AWS / Java / DevOps
Job Overview:
- We are looking for an experienced Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) with strong expertise in AWS, Java-based application platforms, release engineering, and DevOps automation.
- The ideal candidate will be responsible for improving application reliability, streamlining deployment processes, managing software releases, and ensuring optimal performance across cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments.
- This role requires a hands-on engineer who can work closely with Development and Operations teams to automate deployments, monitor application health, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve platform reliability.
- Key Responsibilities1. Release Engineering & Deployment Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute application releases across multiple environments.
- Manage deployments across AWS, Azure, on-premise virtual machines, and Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF).Coordinate platform upgrades and application releases while minimizing downtime.
- Maintain consistency and reliability across deployment environments.2. CI/CD & Automation
- Design, develop, and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines.
- Work with Jenkins and related automation tools to streamline build and deployment processes.
- Develop scripts using Python, Shell, Groovy, or similar languages.
- Implement standard branching strategies, Git workflows, and peer-review practices.
- Identify opportunities to improve release automation and operational efficiency.3. Site Reliability & Performance Engineering
- Monitor application availability, performance, and overall system health.
- Use Dynatrace, Splunk, and other monitoring tools to identify and resolve performance issues.
- Conduct performance testing using JMeter, LoadRunner, or BlazeMeter.
- Analyze application bottlenecks and support scalability improvements.
- Troubleshoot Java applications using heap dumps, thread dumps, and other debugging techniques.4. Cloud & Platform Operations
- Support application deployments and operations across AWS, Azure, virtual machines, and PCF.Work with Docker and container-based deployment technologies.
- Support platform maintenance, upgrades, and configuration management.
- Ensure reliable and secure application deployment practices.5. Production Support & Collaboration
- Investigate technical issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with development, QA, and infrastructure teams to resolve deployment and production challenges.
- Maintain technical documentation covering release procedures, deployment workflows, and troubleshooting guidelines.
- Drive continuous improvement across release engineering and operational processes.
- Required Qualifications & Technical Skills4–8 years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, DevOps, Release Engineering, or Production Engineering.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS cloud services and application deployments.
- Solid understanding of Java-based applications and Spring Boot frameworks.
- Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Hands-on experience with Dynatrace for application monitoring and performance troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in Python, Shell, Groovy, or similar scripting languages.
- Experience with Docker and containerization technologies.
- Knowledge of performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or BlazeMeter.
- Experience with application debugging, heap/thread dump analysis, and production troubleshooting.
- Understanding of Git, branching strategies, and continuous delivery practices.
- Familiarity with Azure, on-premise environments, and PCF is an advantage.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent discipline.
