Program Coordinator at Recovery Café Lowell The Program Coordinator for the Lowell Peer Recovery Center/Recovery Cafe Lowell will develop and oversee the School for Recovery, coordinate RCL events, and oversee the Cafe meal services. The successful candidate will be a person with “lived experience” who thrives in an environment that supports innovation, creativity, and the vision to continuously grow with the ever-changing needs of the members. Job Details: Reports to: Jade Mellen, Program Director of Recovery Café Lowell The Program Coordinator is a 40 hour a week position with excellent benefits and pay. The work hours and days will be Tuesday thru Saturday availability is preferred along with evenings and Saturday availability Job Responsibilities: ● Oversees all programming including School for Recovery curriculum in response to member interest and needs and provide members with a monthly calendar and updates as needed. ● Plans and coordinates all activities and events ● Monitors implementation of program policies and practices ● Works to keep programs on schedule and functioning smoothly ● Support program growth and development as necessary ● Coordinate interactions/relationships between staff, members, and program stakeholders ● Facilitate positive relations between the program team , the media, the public, other programs within the organization ● Oversee the use of technology for program operations including community presentations, hybrid events and programming and social media ● Supervise kitchen operations to include food and coffee preparation, dish washing and clean up. ● Ensures the safe handling of all aspects of Cafe food preparation, consumption, and storage. ● Facilitates recovery circles and peer recovery support groups as necessary. ● Participates in a weekly staff meeting and individual supervision with the Assistant Director. ● Completes all required documentation in a timely manner. ● Adheres to the guiding principles of the Recovery Café Model and to the BSAS standards of care. ● Participates in training as required. Competencies: · Able to work and problem solve independently. · Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. · Demonstrates an ability to actively listen and respond to questions and concerns of staff, members, and other stakeholders. · Practices discretion in all aspects of the job. · Maintains a current knowledge of the roles and responsibilities of recovery coaching. · Able to manage constant change at a moment’s notice · Self-starter able to self-direct and manage their assigned schedule and budget their time appropriate. · Self-starter able to self-direct and manage their assigned schedule and budget their time appropriate. · Possesses a desire to learn and grow within the organization. · Familiarity with the community based medical, behavioral health, and substance use resources and addiction treatment providers and systems in and around Lowell is a significant plus. Physical demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop kneel, crouch or crawl; and talk or hear. Qualifications: · Has personal lived experience in recovery · Possesses a High school diploma or equivalent · Communicates clearly · Demonstrates cultural competency · Has completed Recovery Coach Academy and is working towards Recovery Coach Certification. · Possess a thorough understanding of the Recovery Coach Model and be able to apply this knowledge in different settings. · Understands and supports multiple pathways of recovery. · Possesses the ability to work positively with co-workers and RCL members. · Possesses proficient computer and social media skills.
