POSITION PURPOSE / JOB SUMMARY
The Executive Assistant to the Founder and Head of School (FHOS) is responsible for providing support by performing a wide range of administrative and support duties to facilitate the efficient operation of SLO Classical Academy and to uphold the mission and vision of the school as a valued member of the community.

Reports to the FHOS
Does not encompass supervisory responsibilities
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required:
College degree required
2+ years of Administrative Assistant experience; experience with and/or familiarity with classical education a bonus
Project management experience highly desirable
Strong editing skills highly desirable
Proven outstanding abilities in organization, multi-tasking, and prioritizing
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Technology - highly computer literate and quick tech study required; knowledgeable with Google Suite, etc.
Demonstrated diplomacy, tact, discretion, and coolness under pressure

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential role of the Executive Assistant is to support SLOCA by helping the FHOS. This support manifests in many diverse roles, duties, and responsibilities, which include, but are not limited to, the following:
Project support:
Project management/administration, including but not limited to:
Organizing details
Maintaining electronic documents
Closing out and archiving project collateral as necessary
Completing research
Sending emails
Scheduling appointments
Special project support for FHOS as needed
Identified special project support: Capital Campaign
Serve as the administrative assistant to the CC staff committee, of which the FHOS is core.
This will include, but not be limited to, the project management/administration as listed in the list above.
This will also include some direct assistance to the Director of Development, as guided by the FHOS.
Events support:
Participate as an active or supporting member of teams as assigned, including but not limited to:
Sitting on event committees
Project management coordination
Participation in event success in various ways (shopping, set-up, take-down, etc.)
General Administrative support:
Oversee and provide organizational support for FHOS
Sort and organize physical and electronic mail
Sort and organize physical and electronic documents
Manage and maintain executive schedule, including scheduling travel and conferences, making/changing appointments, planning and hosting meetings, etc.
Prepare agendas and record, compile, transcribe, and distribute minutes of meetings:
Board meetings
Finance meetings
Property meetings
Assist with FHOS’s correspondence to employees, parents, and other potential stakeholders
Assist with scheduling, planning for, and hosting meetings
Answer, screen, and direct phone calls
Prepare written responses to routine inquiries
Review, proofread, and format any needed correspondence to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Provide communication and writing editing as required
Prepare and modify documents, including correspondence, reports, drafts, memos, and emails
Attend and support the FHOS at requested meetings
Maintain records as related to the FHOS’s job
Receive and direct visitors/appointments for the FHOS
Complete general clerical tasks (copying, faxing, filing, etc.)
Staff members are expected to adhere to all Administrative Directives as well as any applicable SLOCA Policies, including those specifically outlined in the Employee Manual.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Able to lift up to 20 pounds on a limited basis. Able to sit at a desk or in meetings for long periods of time and move about campuses easily. Able to work irregular hours if needed for meetings, etc.

Pay: $25.00 per hour
