Safety Superintendent
Job Title: Safety Superintendent, Atlanta
Summary:
Rock Spring Contracting, a drywall subcontractor with a focus on mission critical (data center) projects, is looking for an experienced senior safety professional to manage our safety program in our new Atlanta office.
The Safety Superintendent is responsible for the oversight of all aspects of construction safety for Rock Spring job sites in the Atlanta area. They will partner with both the Rock Spring and GC project teams to manage the safety conditions and performance of the projects. The Safety Superintendent ensures that safety onsite is the number one priority. They hire, train, schedule and manage all Safety Coordinators in the region and coach positive behavior to ensure compliance with OSHA, VOSH, MOSH, company, and client safety requirements.
The Safety Superintendent is also critical to our customer service efforts and must have good communications skills and be able to form trusting relationships with our partners.
Supervisory Responsibilities and Duties:
Visits multiple jobsites daily to conduct safety compliance observations
Develops relationships with GC safety and PM teams on their job sites
Serves as a resource to coach and educate employees to reinforce best practices
Develops and conducts Job Hazard Analysis
Performs safety related training and conducts safety meetings
Performs root cause investigations and all accident/incident responses
Makes recommendations/corrective actions to ensure compliance with OSHA, VOSH, MOSH and customer safety policies
Manages safety citations and corrective actions for Rock Spring employees and our subcontractor employees on site
Finds solutions for GC and end-customer concerns
Communicates hazards with employees, customers, project management, and Director of Safety
Represents the company during safety audits
Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations of jobsites electronically
Handles discipline of employees in accordance with company policy
Sets an example for safe work practices on and off worksites
Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
4+ years experience in construction safety and health program management
Knowledge of OSHA, local safety laws, and other regulatory agencies
Sound/ethical judgment, strong leadership skills, and ability to work independently
Experience in MS Office Suite
CPR/First Aid Certified
OSHA 30/500/510 preferred
Experience working on commercial or civil construction projects
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
