Job Description Job Summary **The Fitter position plays a key role in the manufacturing process. They have hands-on skills to assemble, disassemble, repair and move machinery. A fitter is a skilled tradesperson responsible for assembling, installing and maintaining mechanical systems and equipment.Key ResponsibilitiesAssembling and Fitting:Reading and interpreting technical blueprint drawings, plans, and specifications with minimal supervisionFit and Weld ASME Fabrications to spec.Collaborate with shop personel to optimize workflow and meet deadlines.Conducting inspectionsIncludes performing quality checks to ensure machinery operates correctlyRepair and Maintain:Recognizing machinery, that needs repaired and replacement of worn or defective parts.Maintain safety, quality and compliance standards throughout buildsQualificationsPrevious experience (prefer 5+ years) in fitting and welding.Proficiency in blueprint reading and layoutFamiliarity with ASME code work and vessel fabricationAbility to operate overhead cranes and shop equipment safelyStrong attention to detail and organizational skills and work ethic.Skills & CompetenciesSkillDescriptionTime ManagementPrioritize tasks to meet shipping deadlinesCommunicationClear interaction with vendors and team members with excellent organizational skillsWeldingExceptional welding knowledge and mechanical skillsMathematicsSolid foundation in math skills**Note: As we are a small fabrication business, Fitter/Welder is not a full-time job.
