Project Executive
Position OverviewThe Fordy Group has partnered with a leading General Contractor to identify an experienced and strategic Construction Project Executive to lead and oversee its Commercial Division in the Portland, Oregon market. This executive-level role is responsible for driving operational excellence, client satisfaction, project performance, and team leadership across a diverse portfolio of commercial construction projects.The ideal candidate is a proven construction leader with deep experience managing large-scale commercial projects, building high-performing teams, and developing strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and industry partners. This individual will report directly to the Vice President and play a key role in the continued growth and success of the organization.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive oversight for all commercial construction operations, including project execution, financial performance, scheduling, staffing, and client relationsLead, mentor, and develop Project Managers, Superintendents, and operational teams across multiple projects simultaneouslyCollaborate closely with the Vice President to execute strategic growth initiatives and operational goalsEnsure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standardsDrive accountability and consistency in project management processes, reporting, forecasting, and risk managementMaintain strong relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and community stakeholdersParticipate in business development efforts, including client presentations, pursuit strategies, and contract negotiationsReview and oversee project budgets, cost controls, change orders, and profitability metricsSupport preconstruction and estimating teams during planning and procurement phasesChampion a culture of safety, collaboration, integrity, and operational excellenceQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field preferred10+ years of progressive commercial construction leadership experience, including oversight of multiple large-scale projects and teamsPrior experience in a Project Executive, Senior Project Manager, Operations Manager, or similar leadership role with a General ContractorStrong understanding of commercial construction delivery methods, contracts, budgeting, scheduling, and risk mitigationProven ability to lead teams, manage client relationships, and drive operational performanceExperience overseeing projects in sectors such as healthcare, higher education, mixed-use, multifamily, industrial, or corporate commercial preferredExcellent communication, leadership, and organizational skillsProficiency with construction management software and project controls systemsWhat’s OfferedOpportunity to join a highly respected and growing General Contractor with a strong regional presenceExecutive leadership visibility and direct partnership with senior leadershipCompetitive compensation package including bonus potentialComprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), PTO, and vehicle allowanceLong-term career growth and leadership opportunity within a collaborative cultureAbout the OpportunityThis is an excellent opportunity for a construction operations leader seeking a high-impact role with a reputable builder committed to quality, relationships, and strategic growth throughout the Pacific Northwest.
