Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degreerequired for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.Required Licenses/CertificationsNational CertificationActive state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesWork experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferredApplicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities PreferredKnowledge and experience with Electronic Medical RecordsAbility to be attentive with strong listening skillsStrong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job?s purpose and objectives.
