Systems Administrator

Overview TEKsystems is seeking a mission-focused Systems Administrator with strong Windows Server and AWS GovCloud (US) experience to support classified Department of Defense environments. This role is ideal for a cleared professional who thrives in secure, compliance-driven infrastructures and enjoys hands-on operational ownership. Responsibilities Administer and maintain AWS GovCloud (US) environments supporting classified workloads (IL4/IL5/IL6)Manage and support Windows Server–based systems in classified environmentsEnsure compliance with RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST 800‑53, and FedRAMP HighConfigure and manage AWS services including EC2, IAM, S3, RDS, VPC, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, and KMSImplement and enforce Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) and strong IAM practicesPerform system patching, backups, vulnerability remediation, and compliance scanning using ACAS, SCAP, and other approved toolsSupport ATO packages, POA&Ms, and continuous monitoring effortsImplement centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting; integrate with SIEM tools such as Splunk or ELKProvide Tier 3 support, conduct root cause analysis, and assist with incident responseCreate and maintain system documentation, diagrams, and SOPs Required Qualifications Active DoD Secret Clearance (TS/SCI preferred)IAT Level II or III certification (Security+ CE, CASP+, CISSP, or equivalent)3+ years of hands-on Systems Administration experienceStrong experience with Windows Server administrationWorking knowledge of AWS GovCloud (US) servicesExperience operating in classified or highly regulated environmentsFamiliarity with DoD cybersecurity frameworks (RMF, STIGs, NIST)Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Bash, Python, Terraform, or CloudFormation)Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Experience supporting IL5 or IL6 classified workloadsFamiliarity with AWS Organizations and Service Control Policies (SCPs)Exposure to DevSecOps, CI/CD pipelines, or container platforms (ECS/EKS)Experience working with DISA assessments or CCRI eventsGIS / Geospatial / ESRI experience is a strong plus Work Environment Onsite onlySecure, classified settingMission-critical infrastructure responsibilities Why TEKsystems TEKsystems connects cleared professionals to impactful, long-term opportunities supporting national security missions. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $42.00/hr.
