Human Resources Manager - Evansville, INLewis Bakeries is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead HR, labor relations, and safety functions at our Evansville, Indiana bakery. Every day the Lewis family and their caring associates rise to the challenge of baking the very best bakery products with a forward-thinking passion for growth and innovation.What Makes Us GreatExperienced, stable company - Family-owned, founded in 1925Competitive salaryExcellent benefits package - Low-cost medical & dental, 401k, and company-paid life & disability insurancePaid vacation and holidaysRelocation assistance availableResponsibilitiesServe as the primary HR contact for plant employees, remote sales staff, and transportation driversProvide daily HR and safety support to employees and managementManage safety programs, policies, and training in compliance with OSHA and DOT regulations, in coordination with Corporate VP of EHSSupport and assist in the investigation and resolution of union grievances in partnership with BCTGM representativesParticipate in labor contract negotiations and administer collective bargaining agreements (typically three-year terms)Oversee the Company's performance evaluation processDevelop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, handbooks, and benefits guidesLead full-cycle recruiting for exempt, non-exempt, and hourly roles, including job postings, screening, interviewing, onboarding, and pre-employment testingMaintain and manage the applicant tracking systemEstablish HR goals and support plant-wide engagement and performance initiativesAdminister FMLA, attendance tracking, and leave programsEnsure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment lawsLead audit preparation and regulatory compliance effortsPerform other duties as assignedQualificationsBachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or related fieldMinimum five (5) years of progressive HR experience ideally in a manufacturing environmentMinimum two (2) years of union labor relations experience highly preferredSHRM-CP/SCP or PHR/SPHR certification preferredExperience managing safety and compliance programsStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of professionalism, accountability, and integritySelf-motivated, team-oriented, and dependableEqual Opportunity EmployerLewis Bakeries is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Drug-Free Workplace.
