Responsibilities
Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards to develop personalized treatment plans.
Deliver evidence-based psychotherapy modalities including cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis tailored to client needs.
Provide specialized counseling for children, adolescents, adults, geriatrics, and individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
Implement crisis management strategies and crisis intervention techniques to ensure immediate safety and stabilization for clients experiencing acute mental health crises or PTSD episodes.
Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions focused on grief counseling, addiction recovery, gender issues counseling, chronic pain management, and behavioral therapy.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, special education staff, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation compliant with HIPAA regulations while utilizing medical terminology effectively for clinical notes and reports.
Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to support evidence-based practices and program development.
Conduct telehealth sessions using secure platforms to expand access to mental health services beyond traditional settings.
Participate in ongoing professional development by staying current with ICD coding updates, CPT coding practices for billing purposes, and emerging trends in behavioral health treatment.
Requirements
Valid state licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) or equivalent credential with active certification.
Proven experience in psychotherapy modalities such as cognitive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic therapy, or art/dance therapy.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children, adolescents, adults, seniors, and individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder.
Strong crisis intervention skills with experience managing mental health emergencies including PTSD care and substance abuse issues.
Familiarity with ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems for diagnostic evaluation and billing documentation.
Experience providing telehealth services using HIPAA-compliant platforms is highly desirable.
Knowledge of medical terminology related to behavioral health and familiarity with medical records management.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams effectively.
