Benefits eligibility may vary depending on position.Purpose And Summary StatementOperates commercial sprayer or floater for the purpose of applying crop inputs to producer fields. Operates and maintains single or tandem axle trucks, multi-axle configuration trucks for delivery and/or pick-up of agronomy and/or energy products and other equipment.Essential Job FunctionsApplies crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labelsRecords application data according to regulations and standardsSets up material handling, blending, storage, transport and application equipment for blending and delivery of productsBlends products according to recommended rates and proceduresDemonstrates knowledge of and the ability to safely operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks and other equipment to meet company and DOT standardsPerforms and records daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes Follows the preventative maintenance program and maintains a clean truck to present a professional appearanceLoads and unloads containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcarsEnsures products are evenly balanced and distributed on trucks/trailers and proper axle weights are metResponsible for the inventory control and turns in application records on a daily basisAssures all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket.Ensures that all associated documentation, such as bills of lading, delivery slips, and invoices are completed accurately and returned to the branch location at the end of the day in order to ensure timely receiving and payment of invoicesCompletes necessary paperwork, including accurate logbooks, records of cargo and any other assigned record-keeping duties on a daily basisOther Job FunctionsResponsible for maintaining, repairing, rebuilding, and/or servicing company equipment, vehicles, and structures as needed according to company standardsCollects/records soil sample information using proper proceduresFollows Environmental Health and Safety, OSHA and DOT policies and procedures, as they applyAdheres to the company Uniform Policy, and maintains the appropriate professional imagePerforms all other duties as assignedRequirementsNormally requires a high school diploma or the equivalent thereof, and 2 years or more of related work experience Demonstrates essential abilities including business knowledge, collaboration, communication, customer focus, decision making and skill development.Must have or have the ability to obtain and maintain a CDL license with required endorsements and any other applicable certification, license or permit, valid medical card and satisfactory driving record, as applicable.Must hold and maintain, or have the ability to obtain, all required pesticide or fertilizer applicator licenses or certifications in states where crop production inputs are appliedResponsible for renewing licenses or certifications as required and reporting status of licenses or certifications to the Location ManagerAbility to work extended hours and on-call as business conditions warrantOccasionally exposed or required: Extreme weather conditions (hot, cold, wet, etc.)Noisy conditionsWorking conditions may include dust, fumes, chemicals, and electrical hazards with appropriate safety measuresMay be required to work at varying heights Lift 51 - 70 lbs.
