Job Description: The SSVF Peer Coordinator at A Safe Haven plays a pivotal role in peer support programs and ensuring the successful integration of peer support services within our organization. You will work closely with program managers and staff to develop peer support initiatives that promote recovery, empowerment, and community engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with program managers and staff to integrate peer support services into existing programs and develop new initiatives that meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Attend team meetings and peer support groups to encourage collaboration, peer learning, and mutual support among staff members.
Maintain accurate records of peer support activities, including attendance, participant feedback, and outcomes data, and prepare reports as needed.
Serve as a liaison between peer support specialists and other staff members, advocating for the unique perspectives and contributions of peer support within the organization.
Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in peer support and recovery-oriented services, and incorporate this knowledge into program development and implementation.
Qualifications:
Previous experience in peer support, peer counseling, or a related field preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trusting relationships with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles and an understanding of the impact of trauma on individuals and communities.
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues from different disciplines and backgrounds.
Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and respond to crisis situations as needed.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
