Operations Coordinator

Eastern Express, one of the most experienced flatbed trucking companies in the United States, has an opportunity for a highly motivated, career-minded individual to join our team as an Operations Coordinator. This position is full-time/on-site in our Griffith, IN office. In this role, you will be part of the team that develops and maintains relationships with our driver base and terminal network, serving as the “first line of defense” in providing day-to-day operational support. Responsibilities of the Position: Assisting drivers by responding to and resolving pickup, in-transit, delivery, and other operational and logistics issues and/or complaints Handling incoming phone calls and emails with driver requests (including some after-hours calls) Providing guidance/recommendations to drivers to help them maximize their business and leverage the most profitable geographic areas within our terminal network Distributing or authorizing funds to capacity providers and/or vendors in accordance with our policies and procedures Reviewing our terminals’ and drivers’ utilization of Eastern’s value-added services and communicating additional opportunities to improve our collective business Analyzing performance metrics and helping to implement strategies to improve operational performance Assisting/implementing new programs, software, and systems Investigating and identifying new opportunities to strengthen Eastern’s operations Updating equipment and drivers’ status/location Supporting managed accounts as needed Qualifications & Interpersonal Skills: Knowledge of the transportation/trucking industries required Exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills Analytical aptitude Strong communication skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Collaborative, team-oriented, service-minded attitude Proficient use of and ability to quickly learn a variety of computer programs, apps, and websites Experience with Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, and Outlook Benefits: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (on-site in Griffith, IN) Performance-based bonus plan Complete benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and life insurances 401(k) with company match Vacation and holiday pay Paid parental leave Physical Demands of the Position: Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment and keyboards.
