Human Resources Payroll Manager

Ohio Logistics is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Specialist to serve as a trusted partner to the Director of Human Resources while owning the complete payroll lifecycle, leading HR operations, and supporting organizational growth. This role blends hands‑on payroll expertise with HR leadership, compliance oversight, and process optimization.You will act as a system super user, oversee a small HR team, and play a vital role in ensuring payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and a positive associate experience.This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who excels in payroll operations and enjoys combining strategy with execution.What You’ll DoPayroll Leadership & Super‑User ResponsibilityOwn the full end‑to‑end payroll process, including data entry, audits, approvals, processing, and post‑payroll reconciliationManage payroll tax reporting, filings, year‑end processes, and coordination with payroll vendorsEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll laws and regulationsServe as HRIS and Payroll System Super User, providing system administration, troubleshooting, reporting, and user trainingPartner with Finance to ensure accurate payroll accounting, reporting, and controlsHR Operations & Business PartnershipAct as a key HR partner to the Director of Human Resources and leadership teamAdvise managers on employee relations, performance management, policies, and HR best practicesSupport compensation planning, associate development, and organizational initiativesManage associate relations matters, investigations, and conflict resolution with professionalism and discretionHR projects and process improvementProvide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to support team growthSupport succession planning, upskilling, and leadership development initiativesBenefits AdministrationOversee benefits administration to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely enrollmentsEvaluate benefit offerings and recommend improvements aligned with associate needs and company goalsTraining, Compliance & HR ProjectsCoordinate onboarding, training, and compliance programs across the organizationLead HR projects designed to improve efficiency, streamline processes, and enhance the associate experienceAnalyze HR metrics and payroll data to support informed, data‑driven decision‑makingRequired Experience & QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field (Master’s degree or HR certification preferred)3–5 years of hands‑on payroll experience, including full payroll processing and payroll tax reporting5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or HR Business Partner responsibilitiesProven experience managing direct reports (2–3 employees) over at least 2 yearsStrong working knowledge of payroll systems, HRIS platforms, and HR best practicesIn‑depth understanding of federal, state, and local employment and payroll lawsWhy Ohio Logistics?At Ohio Logistics, you’ll find a collaborative culture where your expertise directly impacts associates and the business.
