Their main duties include scheduling employees and building their shift calendars, managing and resolving customer complaints and ensuring the bar’s inventory is well-stocked.A Bar Manager uses skills in project management and leadership to ensure customers have a great experience. Bar managers keep their bars running smoothly by handling day-to-day operations, managing resources, and employees, and creating a safe, fun environment for staff and patrons.Where are we located?Two restaurants in the heart of Flatiron in New York City. 420 seats, over 1800 square meters and a team of 150-175 people.Your day at Aqua:Managing the business aspects of the bar, such as keeping a current liquor license, negotiating supplier contracts, taking/maintaining inventory and reordering supplies, managing budgets, and setting goalsRecruit, interview, hire and train new bar staff employeesHandle customer complaintsAdvertise the daily, weekly and monthly promotions of the barEnsure staff is following all food control and safety regulationsCreate employee schedules based on expected customer numbersCreates drink and food menusDetermines employees’ schedulesEnsures bar is well-stocked and cleanTracks customer behavior and salesMaintains budget and monitors costsMaintains drink recipe documentationOversees planning for special eventsAppropriately delegates tasks to staffSelects and purchases liquor and other suppliesOversees staff, including bartenders and barbacks, and, in some cases, bouncers, wait staff, and/or kitchen staff as wellHires, trains, promotes, and, when necessary, disciplines or fires staffSelects music, books bands, and provides input on décor and marketing, including social media and other forms of publicityInitiates and maintains vendor relationshipsUses point-of-sale tracking technology and bar and restaurant management platformDiffusing tense situations between patrons or staff members to prevent possible safety or legal issues, ejecting unruly persons, if neededJob Requirements:Accomplished mixologistExcellent multitasking abilityProblem-solving skillsInterpersonal relationship skillsAttention to detailStrong leadership abilityOrganizational and customer service skillsKnowledge of food, beverage, and hospitality industriesCalm under pressureAble to maintain restraint in stressful situationsAbility to deescalate tense interactionsJudgment and creativityMath / financial skillsComfortable with hospitality and sales technology platformsEnthusiastic and energeticWhere there is water, there is life & where there is life, you will find us!Dive into a world of culinary innovation and memorable dining experiences, where your love for food and hospitality can shine.Aqua Restaurant Group welcomes individuals from all backgrounds and is committed to creating an inclusive work environment.
