Electrical Designer

Tectonic is currently seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team, working on a wide range of solar, EV charging, and grid-connected infrastructure projects.This role offers an opportunity to work closely with engineers and project managers to develop design drawings, plans, and details for high-profile renewable energy projects.Essential FunctionsPrepare electrical layouts, conduit and cable routing, raceway design, and lighting plans using AutoCAD and Revit.Develop single-line diagrams, equipment layouts, and cable schedules under the supervision of senior engineers.Review vendor drawings and incorporate redlines and field changes.Coordinate designs with civil, structural, and mechanical teams.Maintain project documentation and drawing standards.Support site visits and field verification activities, as needed.QualificationsAssociate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Design, Engineering Technology, or related discipline;3–7 years of electrical design experience; experience in renewable energy or utility projects preferred;Proficiency in AutoCAD (2020 or newer); Revit or S3D experience a plus;Strong attention to detail and organizational skills;Excellent communication and teamwork abilities;Ability to travel occasionally for site assessments.Requires a valid, clean driver’s license, as travel to job sites may be required.Physical RequirementsWhile performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is often required to assume a stationary position, and regularly perform tasks that require the handling, inspection, and/or feeling of documents, materials, and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. Occasionally, the employee will need to move around on the job-site, sometimes while lifting and/or moving equipment up to 25 lbs and/or in hazardous weather conditions. The employee must be able to safely operate a motor-vehicle, in which they may be required to remain stationary for a prolonged period of time. They must be able to receive and convey detailed or important information with others using the Corporate e-mail system, telephone system, and conferencing systems.
