Position Summary The Brake Press employee operates CSI’s multitude of hydraulic and manual press brakes to manufacture parts, equipment, and other components from sheet metal or metal blanks. This includes machine setup, production, and quality. What You Will Do · Perform Start Up/ Shut Down · Follow Work instruction WI MD-08 · Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpiece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements. · Select proper tooling and dies based on material thickness and type. · Set up tooling, load programs and set machine parameters to ensure optimal performance of the equipment. · Verify conformance of finished work-piece to specifications, using measuring and inspection tools as necessary (calipers and tape measure). · Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve forming issues. · Ensure that safe work practices are followed and adhered to. · Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work area To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. What You Will Need to Be Successful · Familiarity with blueprints and inspection equipment (calipers and measuring tape) · Proficient with mathematical equations · Skills in mechanical repair of electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic systems and general maintenance · Knowledge of inventory control and manufacturing processes · Knowledge of press brake tooling and its application in different bending operations · Experience in programming machine controls for precise bending operations Physical Demands: · Frequent lifting of 50 lbs. · Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, and standing for 8 hours per day.
