Sr Java Developer

Overview In this role you drive performance architecture for enterprise applications. You collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize complex Java/J2EE web apps, including SOAP services, WAS configurations, and database tuning. You will identify tuning opportunities, implement solutions, and help establish performance processes across technology teams. ResponsibilitiesLead performance-focused analysis of code and configuration to identify tuning opportunitiesTune WebSphere Application Server configurations and monitor performanceProfile and optimize RDBMS queries, JVM memory, and thread behaviorAnalyze service-oriented architectures (SOA) and SOAP web services for performance gainsPropose and implement code or configuration changes; leverage APM toolsCollaborate with business owners and ITS teams to onboard performance processesEstablish performance-related guidelines and best practices for tech teams Key requirementsAt least 7 years of experience with Java technologies (Core Java, J2EE)Extensive WebSphere (WAS) configuration and performance tuning experienceStrong performance tuning of complex web applications and SOA/SOAP servicesExperience with RDBMS and SQL tuning; JVM heap/memory management; thread dumpsURL profiling using browser debugging tools (F12)Ability to deeply analyze code and configuration to implement tuned solutionsExperience with or knowledge of APM tools (e.g., dynaTrace) is a plusTeam player with ability to work with diverse stakeholders and independent work styleCapability to set up performance processes and guidelines for onboarding teamsteam collaborationstakeholder managementindependent problem solvingCore Java/J2EEWebSphere Application Server (WAS) configuration and tuningPerformance tuning of SOA/SOAP services
