Janitor II, Part-Time

DescriptionScheduling Note:This is a part-time position slated for 25 hours per week, Monday-Friday. Strong preference for 6:00am-11:00am availability. Scheduling accommodation may be made for 12:00pm - 5:00pm for the right fit. Summary:This position is responsible for performing janitorial duties for the Rochester location. Knowledge or willingness to learn proper cleaning techniques is essential.Performs a wide variety of cleaning, consumable replacement, emptying trash, vacuuming, mopping, sweeping, window cleaning, floor care and general upkeep. Principal Accountabilities:Follows daily/weekly cleaning schedules for facilities ensuring a clean work environment. Restroom upkeep includes cleaning floors, urinals, toilets, sinks, and replacing consumables such toilet paper, hand soap, paper towels, pads, scrubbing soap, as well as checking operation of soap dispensers, hand sanitizers; replacing batteries as needed. Cleaning windows for front lobby, main doorways, conference rooms, café and high traffic areas. Emptying trash cans, cafeteria, conference rooms, and offices Cleaning and sanitizing tables in cafeteria, conference rooms, and offices. Vacuuming carpets and runners in main office areas, hallways, and lobby conference rooms. Dust mopping main hallways as needed. Sweeping manufacturing main aisleways. Stripping and waxing main hallways, Labs, cafeteria floors as needed, including burnishing when necessary. Inventory tracking and management of supplies and equipment as needed. Other tasks as assigned, such as cleaning floor runners, replacing light bulbs, etc. Performs basic building related inspections on a monthly or annual schedule (emergency lights & exit signs). Performs skilled activities such as painting, drywall repairs, plumbing (troubleshoot / replacement of toilet and sink solenoids / diaphragms). Minimum Requirements:High School Diploma preferred with 2+ years of relevant work experience Demonstrated relevant cleaning skills. Basic knowledge of cleaning products or willing to learn. Demonstrated awareness of OSHA, chemical handling, and general safety. Self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks. Strong communicator with ability to work effectively with the team. Physical Demands:Regularly works near moving mechanical parts, scrubbers, buffers and is regularly exposed to vibration and low level noise. (Hearing protection provided if needed) Ability to communicate clearly with fellow colleagues and company staff members. The employee must occasionally lift or move heavy objects up to 50 pounds. May remain stationary for extended periods, but also needs to be mobile enough to navigate through areas. Employee will have to work from ladders and lifts at times.
