Associate Attorney

Job Description Position: Associate AttorneyLocation: El Segundo, CADuration: Full-time & direct hireAbout the job:Client is seeking experienced insurance defense attorneys ready to elevate their careers and build toward partnership. Our practice includes complex medical malpractice and elder abuse defense, representing major healthcare systems, hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, and other institutional clients, as well as entertainment venues and government agencies.Responsibilities:Manage an active litigation caseload from inception through resolution.Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, and other legal documents.Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy.Take and defend depositions.Attend court hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and settlement conferences.Develop case strategy in collaboration with partners and senior attorneys.Communicate effectively with clients, carriers, experts, and opposing counsel.Maintain accurate billing and meet annual billable hour expectations.Mentor junior attorneys and support staff as appropriate.Qualifications:Active membership in the California State Bar.3-10+ years of civil litigation experience preferred.Experience in one or more of the following is a plus:General LiabilityMedical MalpracticeDental MalpracticePublic Entity DefenseProfessional LiabilityStrong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.Excellent organizational and time management abilities.Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
