Junior Accountant

Xometry’s digital marketplace gives manufacturers the critical resources they need to grow their business while also making it easy for buyers at Fortune 1000 companies to tap into global manufacturing capacity.The Junior Accountant will be responsible for various accounting functions, including general ledger management, month-end and year-end closing, financial reporting, process improvement, audit support and cross team collaboration. This position requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices, US GAAP, as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Responsibilities:Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts. Record journal entries and adjustments accurately and timely. Ensure proper documentation and support for all transactionsCoordinate with the revenue team on the monthly revenue recognition process and reconciliation Lead or participate in month-end and year-end closing activities. Prepare financial statements and reports as required. Analyze financial data and provide explanations for variancesPrepare various financial reports for internal and external stakeholders. Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance requirements. Ensure financial statements comply with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) or applicable standardsIdentify opportunities for process improvements in accounting procedures. Implement best practices to streamline workflows and increase efficiency. Participate in system upgrades or implementations related to the general ledgerAssist with internal and external audit requests. Provide necessary documentation and explanations to auditors. Ensure compliance with audit requirements and address any findings or recommendationsCollaborate with other members of the accounting and finance team. Provide guidance and support to junior staff members. Communicate effectively with colleagues and management on financial mattersReconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate reportingAssist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support decision-making processesMaintain a comprehensive understanding of accounting standards and industry best practicesPerform analysis and special projects, as requiredQualifications:2+ years of relevant experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or technology environmentBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification is preferredAdvanced proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage,QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detailExcellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teamsAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environmentStrong understanding of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions and how they relate to the General LedgerSystem implementation knowledge Experience with revenue recognition and cost of goods soldHere at Xometry we believe in diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging.
