This role ensures accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supporting laboratory operations and maintaining high-quality results.Key ResponsibilitiesReceive, label, and log incoming specimens accurately into the laboratory systemPrepare samples for testing, including centrifugation, aliquoting, and proper storageVerify specimen integrity and resolve discrepancies or labeling issuesGather all the appropriate documents for submitting with the samplesMaintain detailed and accurate records of all laboratory activitiesOperate and maintain laboratory equipment according to established protocolsFollow all safety, infection control, and regulatory guidelines (e.g., OSHA, CLIA)Communicate effectively with lab staff, supervisors, and other departmentsAssist in inventory management, including stocking and ordering suppliesDispose of biohazard materials in compliance with safety regulationsSupport quality control procedures and participate in audits when requiredQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in a science-related field preferredPrevious laboratory or specimen processing experience is a plusKnowledge of laboratory safety procedures and basic medical terminologyStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentBasic computer skills and familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS)Good communication and teamwork skillsPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand for extended periodsCapability to lift and move light to moderate loads (up to 25 lbs)Manual dexterity for handling specimens and lab equipmentWork EnvironmentClinical or diagnostic laboratory settingExposure to biological materials and chemicals (proper PPE provided)
