If you enjoy being hands-on, mentoring others, and solving real-world challenges in dynamic environments, this role gives you the opportunity to make a direct impact every day.You'll partner with drivers, escorts, operations, and customers to continuously improve safety performance while supporting complex wind and heavy haul operations across the country.What You'll DoLead Hands-On Driver TrainingDeliver engaging, on-the-job training for drivers and pilot car operatorsTeach safe operation of wind-specific and heavy haul equipmentConduct post-classroom, over-the-road evaluationsIdentify training gaps and provide refresher training as neededCollaborate with wind safety teams to complete full training cyclesAssist with accident counseling and coaching Drive Continuous Safety ImprovementReview incidents and cargo claims to identify trends and training opportunitiesHelp manage wind cargo claims through proactive training initiativesSupport curriculum design and special training projectsServe as a trusted safety resource for drivers in the field Be a Visible Safety Presence in the FieldPerform driver compliance audits and equipment spot checksConduct shipper, site, and customer visitsObserve carrier operations and ensure best practices are followedInterview and evaluate drivers to ensure readiness and capability Support Specialized OperationsAssist and supervise unique heavy haul projects onsiteSupport operations with project planning and preliminary site reviewsWork flexible hours as required to support live operations What You BringExperience & KnowledgeHigh school diploma or equivalent2-4 years of experience in driver training or facilitationHands-on experience transporting over-dimensional freight on multi-axle configurationsStrong understanding of DOT safety regulationsKnowledge of heavy haul and over-dimensional laws and permitting (preferred) LicensesCommercial Driver's License (CDL) preferred but not requiredDoubles/Triples endorsement preferred Skills That Set You ApartConfident, engaging trainer who enjoys mentoring othersStrong organizational and time-management skillsExcellent communication skills-written, verbal, and listeningComfortable building rapport with drivers, customers, and leadershipSolid computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)Willing and able to travel 70-80%, including overnight stays Work Environment & Physical DemandsPrimarily field-based with some office and travel timeAbility to stand and walk for extended periods at field sitesAbility to sit for extended periods when traveling or completing office workExposure to outdoor weather conditions and temperature changesOccasionally required to work in tight or awkward positions while inspecting or assisting in the field What's in it for YOU?Competitive salaryComprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, long & short-term disability, 401(k), PTO, plus more! Compensation & BenefitsThe anticipated base salary range for this position is $65,000 to $85,000. Base salary offered is determined by relevant experience, education, certifications, and geographic as compared to others doing substantially similar work.
