Preschool Team Lead
As the Preschool Team Lead, you will be responsible for spending 50% of your time in the classroom supporting different classrooms and the other 50% of your time in a leadership role providing support around administration, communication, training, and other center needs. The time spent in the classroom will involve supporting breaks, gaps in the schedule, filling in when teachers are out, being the temporary lead teacher for any potential open positions, coaching and mentoring teachers, and other in classroom duties as needed. There will be times due to staffing needs that you will be in a classroom for the full day.
As a member of the leadership team, you will interface with teammates, families, children, and the community. You will partner with the center director, assistant director, owners, and TLE corporate in helping to build amazing classrooms, ensure the school is always DCF and TLE assessment ready and support the teaching team with curriculum, training, classroom management, and enrichment. You will also support the management team with various paperwork and front office duties, be a backfill for the cook when they are out and be a backfill when the Center Director or Assistant Director is not at the center.
Required Skills Include:
At least three years of childcare experience with a love for children and a strong desire to be an integral part of their growth.
Dedication to children and their families and a strong desire to be part of a center of excellence.
Must have 3+ years of teaching experience including as a lead teacher.
Positive attitude and excellent leadership skills.
Must always display a professional demeanor.
Must be able to work a flexible schedule. Based on the need this will include opening or closing the center and working overtime. You must be able with little notice to open or close the center.
Available for occasional after-hours meetings including nights and weekends.
CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain.
CDA/Staff credential is a strong preference, if you do not currently have your CDA, you must begin the CDA process within 30 days of starting the role.
45 hours of Department of Children Families and required ELC training.
Strong skills at utilizing a computer, researching on the internet, using social media tools, etc.
Must have strong written and verbal communication skills including writing communications for families and the community.
Must be physically able to lift a minimum of 40 pounds and be able to be physically active with young children.
Ability to speak, read, and write English.
