Snowsports Manager
Gunstock Mountain Resort is seeking a Snowsports Manager for the 2026/27 winter season to lead the day-to-day operations of its Snowsport School. Responsible for ensuring an exceptional guest experience, strong instructional quality, and effective staff utilization throughout the winter season. This is a hands-on leadership role within a dynamic, fast-paced resort environment. This position reports directly to the Snowsports Director.Key ResponsibilitiesSnowsports Operations & Guest Experience Lead the daily operations of the Snowsports School, including lesson capacity management, sales desk coordination, staffing schedules, and guest service delivery; effectively utilize scheduling and operational software tools to maximize efficiency and revenue while maintaining service quality.Ensure a consistently high-quality instructional experience across all lesson types, prioritizing guest satisfaction, safety, and professionalism.Resolve guest concerns and service issues promptly and effectively, using feedback as an opportunity for continuous improvement.Staff Leadership, Scheduling & Performance ManagementPartner with Adult, Children's, and Outreach Supervisors to develop schedules that optimize instructor utilization while managing payroll and operating expenses.Monitor supervisor, coordinator, and instructor performance; identify training needs, address performance issues, and support professional growth.Motivate and engage team members, plan and execute team-building initiatives, and foster strong morale throughout the season.Hiring, Training & ComplianceAssist with preseason hiring, onboarding, and training of instructors and department staff.Ensure staff compliance with all Gunstock policies, operational standards, and industry best practices.Collaborate with the Training Manager and Snowsports Director to identify team-wide skill development needs and align training programs accordingly.Successful Candidates Will HavePSIA Level II certification required, plus at least 5 seasons of snowsports leadership/supervisory experienceAbility to ski/snowboard at an intermediate or advanced level up to 3 hours/day on all terrain in variable weather conditionsStrong communication skills and the ability to manage, motivate, and coach diverse teamsExperience with scheduling and workforce management software; Flaik experience preferredSound judgment, conflict-resolution skills, and a guest-first mindsetStrong organizational skills and comfort balancing operational demands with financial disciplineBenefitsThis is a full-time, seasonal position (October-April) with many seasonal perks including: complimentary Season Passes for you & your family, plus complimentary Day Passes for friends, complimentary shift beverages, 40% off all resort F&B venues, 25% off retail purchases at Gunstock Ski & Sport.
