General Production
General Production Under direct supervision, this Entry Level position performs repetitive production support operations using hand tools, associated machinery, and equipment to assist in the manufacturing of JELD-WEN products including PAV, Glass, and other JELD-WEN related building products. General Production Support personnel assist in every facet of the operation, as directed by Leadership, to achieve the goals and objectives of JELD-WEN products and are involved in every phase of production from beginning to end; They gather the necessary materials, use the appropriate hand tools, and operate applicable machinery and equipment in the various plant while assisting in the achievement of production goals, quotas, and objectives. Some responsibilities include, but are not limited to, operating machinery and affixing parts and support mechanisms to the product; trimming operations; final out with finished products, label and tally them accordingly to match appropriate paperwork; make necessary repairs to the product and load them where applicable. Maintains a positive approach while problem solving improvement opportunities. Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations per plant policies and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) guidelines. The physical demands described here are representative, but not all inclusive, of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is routinely required to sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee will move stock, materials, and unfinished and finished product in and near their work areas. This requires the ability to raise hand above shoulder, stand for extended periods and solo lift to 50 lbs. intermittently and up to 25 lbs. repetitively. Anything over 50lbs requires a two-person team. The employee may be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and machines, vibrations, and loud noises. High School Diploma or GED preferred; The ability to read a tape measure accurately; Previous production support experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not mandatory; Must be able to be trained on basic processes and equipment and serve as a hands-on resource in Production Support. Typical schedules are fulltime and are either 10hr. or 12hr. With a 1st and 2nd shift. + overtime over a bi-weekly pay-cycle. We also offer a shift premium when working the second shift.
