Role Description This is a remote internship role for a Meteorologist at KGTX 7 News. The Meteorologist Intern will analyze and interpret meteorological data to provide accurate weather forecasts and reports. Key responsibilities include monitoring severe weather patterns, preparing weather-related content, and crafting clear messaging for broadcast and digital platforms. The role may also involve collaborating with on-air staff and contributing to social media updates to inform the community about weather conditions and safety measures. Qualifications Strong knowledge of Meteorology and Severe Weather patterns and forecastingUnderstanding of Oceanography and Climatology and their impact on local weather systemsProficient in applying concepts of Physics to weather modeling and analysisExcellent communication skills for creating weather reports and engaging with audiences across media platformsAbility to synthesize data and deliver clear and concise forecastsEnrollment in or recent completion of a degree in Meteorology, Atmospheric Science, or a related fieldExperience with weather-tracking tools and systems is a plusPassion for educating and informing the public about weather and its potential impacts
