Prin System Architect, Amazon Leo

DescriptionThe Principal Architect in this role will lead the architecture and delivery of next-generation Leo customerterminals. This role owns the system from first principles through production at scale-driving technicaldecisions that directly impact performance, cost, and global connectivity. This is a high-impact, highvisibility role within the customer terminal organization.The architect will operate across usability, industrial design, mechanical, RF, antenna, modem, compute,thermal, power, and network domains to define the optimal product architecture and deliver systems thatwork reliably in the real world, at volume and helps to define the technology and product roadmap forfuture generations of the terminals for residential, enterprise, aviation, automotive, and governmentKey job responsibilitiesDevelop key product-level metrics for customer terminalsDevelop industry benchmarking and define future product positioningOwn the end-to-end system architecture for LEO customer terminals from concept throughproduction. Define major building blocks and interfaces, and communicate with peer teamsTranslate constellation and network requirements into clear, executable system specificationsDrive first-principles design and trade studies across antenna, RF front-end, modem/PHY,compute, and powerBuild and maintain system models and simulations to guide architecture and validate designdecisionsIdentify and eliminate system bottlenecks across the full signal chain (antenna → RF → baseband→ network)Drive hardware-software co-design to maximize performance and efficiencyMake high-judgment technical decisions with incomplete data and drive them to closureWork directly with engineering teams to ensure architecture is implemented, validated, andshippedHold a high bar for simplicity, manufacturability, and cost at scaleBasic QualificationsBS degree in electrical, mechanical or computer engineering15+ years of experience in complex integrated systems including wireless systems, or consumerelectronicsProven track record of delivering high-performance hardware products at scaleDeep expertise in one or more areas: RF systems, phased arrays, modem/PHY, or network systemsStrong experience in system modeling and performance optimizationDemonstrated ability to own and drive cross-functional systems into productionComfortable operating in fast-paced, execution-driven environmentsPreferred QualificationsMBA or some post-graduate education in business, finance or product designExperience in working closely with manufacturing and supply chain teamsExperience in working at a startup environmentAmazon is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of protected veteran status, disability, or other legally protected status.Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
