Pool Equipment Sales Specialist

Job Summary The Sales Associate is responsible for selling pool, spa, and backyard products by meeting customer needs and obtaining orders from existing and potential customers. This role focuses on providing exceptional service, assisting with product selection, and ensuring a positive shopping experience both in-store and online. The Sales Associate supports eCommerce activities, maintains product knowledge, and helps drive sales through proactive customer engagement. Duties & ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist customers in person, by phone, and emailProvide product information and recommendationsUpsell additional products when appropriateEnter and process sales orders, quotes, and transactions (in-store and eCommerce platforms like Shopify & Activate)Estimate project costs and material quantitiesManage inventory and perform inventory checksRespond promptly to customer inquiries and resolve concernsCollaborate with other departments to support daily operationsMaintain professional communication with managers, coworkers, and customersOperate company truck as needed; load/unload inventoryMaintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to safety/customer privacy policiesSupport sales growth through proactive follow-up and engagementPerform clerical duties (data entry, scanning, filing)Assist with other projects or duties as assigned Qualifications Required:Prior experience in retail sales or customer service (3+ years in direct or indirect sales).Experience with eCommerce platforms; Shopify and Activate preferred.Strong communication and interpersonal skills; ability to engage customers effectively.Computer skills, including data entry and point-of-sale systems.Ability to perform retail transactions and maintain inventory control.Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report. Preferred:Sales and customer service experience in pool supply distribution.Supervisory or independent work experience.Bilingual abilities are a plus.Ability to quickly learn product knowledge and internal systems. Physical RequirementsAbility to sit at a desk for administrative tasks, including computer and phone use.Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and reach as needed.Ability to lift and carry items up to 60 lbs, including moving customer-purchased products from shipping/receiving to the sales floor or front counter.
