First Atlantic is expanding its mortgage loan portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity for a licensed mortgage loan originator to join our team. The primary purpose of this position is to assist First Atlantic Federal Credit Union to live out its mission, to provide best value financial services to members by providing outstanding service to both external and internal members. A key function of this outstanding service is to identify member needs and recommend appropriate credit union product and service solutions. In addition; plans and implements financial institution sales and marketing programs targeted toward the residential real estate market by performing the following duties. This position may involve evening and weekend hours as needed to meet customer needs.
Essential Responsibilities
Calls, develops and visits centers of influence to create mortgage loan customers
Developing & cultivating self-generated referral sources & partnerships
Interviewing applicants to obtain pertinent information regarding their loan needs
Providing service & overseeing all actions during the loan origination process for managing the relationship with the member ensuring that the mortgage loan closes based upon mutually acceptable terms
Compiling, coordinating and processing necessary loan documents for submission to underwriting
Managing mortgage pipeline, assisting customers, inputting applications & reviewing financial and credit data
Ensuring compliance to all Federal, State and company Lending policies & procedures
Calling, writing & e-mailing clients or prospects
Assisting in coordinating marketing programs
Studying & evaluating new activities, policies, programs, services & markets related to business development strategy
Maintaining current knowledge of trends & developments in local real estate market as well as regulations concerning residential mortgage lending
Qualifications
NMLS License
BA preferred but not required
Minimum 3 years' related experience
Prior loan origination experience is required
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs. Excel, Word, Power Point.
Superior Customer service skills.
Detail orientated and able to function in a fast-paced and changing environment.
Strong organizational and communication skills
