Position Overview:Rock Ridge Public Schools is seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to serve in a High School Setting II/IV center-based program supporting students with significant academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. Program Description:This program provides intensive instruction, behavioral supports, and transition-focused programming including life skills, vocational readiness, and post-secondary planning.Staffing Structure:Programming aligns with Minnesota center-based service expectations. Setting III programs operate with lower ratios, while Setting IV programs require intensive staffing supports, often approximating 1-3 staff-to-student ratio or greater based on IEP needs.Required Qualifications:Valid Minnesota Special Education teaching licenseBachelor's degree in Special Education or related fieldKnowledge of IEPs, behavior strategies, and compliance requirementsPreferred Qualifications:Experience in Setting III or IV programsExperience with secondary transition programmingCPI training or similarExperience with FBAs, BIPs, and trauma-informed practicesEssential Duties:Provide individualized instruction aligned to IEPsImplement behavior supports and interventionsSupport transition planning (college, career, independent living)Collaborate with staff, families and agenciesEnsure compliance and documentationPerform other duties as assignedApplication Process:Please include a letter of interest, resume, and licensure.Other Information:Home to many outdoor enthusiasts, our district is close to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, Minnesota's top public golf course located at Giants Ridge Golf and Ski Resort, and many other activities that encourage tourists to flock to the area.
